2018 makes the last five years the warmest in history, scientists say, as Democrats put climate change on the agenda

The past five years are the warmest in recorded history, scientists from NASA and NOAA announced Wednesday, part of a continued trend of higher temperatures around the world. "2018 is yet again an extremely warm year on top of a long-term global warming trend," said Goddard Institute for Space Studies Director Gavin Schmidt.
